Queest Snow Conditions

LOST: I was riding on Sat. Mar. 6, and lost my camera. The last time I used it was at Mara Lookout, so I beleive it is near there. It is a Canon Powershot A560, in a black case. Unfortunately there wasn't any contact info on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

What a day up the hill, fresh snow, 4-8" and sunshine all day long!  We were on a quest to get the official caribou area closure signs up so it took us all along the ridge from the cabin and back to the Golf Course.  I did trigger one avalanche when going down one of the ravines to get to our spots, a little freaky to say the least, the snow just engulfed the sled, right up to the windshield and I road it down.  During our travels we spotted numerous areas that had broken loose so be very careful when back there and don't travel alone.  Along with that, always know where your buddies are, nothing worse than someone in the group buggering off all the time and you have no idea where they are, maybe 5' under the snow!

Along with Bruce, Princilene and myself, we met up with a new sled buddy, Chris from Calgary.  We met him at the bottom of the hill and he asked if he could come along and we warned him, we' be putting him to work!  He helped us the entire time he was up there, much appreciated Chris and great to meet you.  Anyways, watch for the signs and please don't go past them.  We are getting a big map for up at the cabin that will show the areas that are closed.  Great sledding out there!

Bruce, Charlie, James and myself did a trek up the hill to flag out some closed areas (Caribou) and also give James a chance to get a couple pictures.  He works out of Salmon Arm through CSRD and looks after part of the tourism sector, getting pictures and video's of different areas.  We did the entire trek, all the way back to the Golf Course.  With approx. 6" of fresh snow and no lack of sunshine we had a helluva good day all around!  We were, during the riding process, giving James a lesson or two on the way, showing him the finer art of keeping ones body weight on the uphill side of the sled.  Sometimes it worked, and by the looks of the Pic of the Week, sometimes it didn't work.   Good to meet you James, your welcome back anytime.  We did get the area flagged for the closure but we will be going back soon and posting official signs that close the area to sledders.
